About

A marketing practice built entirely around visual artists.

Artist Growth Marketing exists for painters, photographers, sculptors, illustrators and digital artists — people whose work deserves an audience larger than the one that happens to find it.

Our Story

Most marketing was never designed with an artist in mind.

The advice that circulates online is largely borrowed from software, retail and e-commerce. It assumes a product that can be reproduced endlessly, a funnel that can be optimised, and a buyer making a rational decision. Almost none of that describes how someone comes to care about a painting.

Artist Growth Marketing started from the opposite direction: begin with the practice and work outward. What is this artist making, what is genuinely distinctive about it, and who — specifically — is the kind of person who would want to live with it, exhibit it, write about it or collect it?

Everything we do follows from those answers. Positioning, content, campaigns, exhibition promotion and collector outreach are all downstream of understanding the work properly first.

We are deliberately email-first. Reviews, strategy documents and campaign plans arrive in writing, which suits artists working around studio hours rather than calendars.

What We Hold To

Three principles we do not bend on.

The work leads

Marketing follows the practice. We never ask an artist to change what they make in order to make promotion easier.

Plainly stated

No inflated claims, no invented numbers, no promises about outcomes nobody can control. We tell you what we can and cannot do.

Built to be handed over

Everything we set up is documented in language you can use yourself. You should never be dependent on us to describe your own work.

Our Approach

Marketing should never make an artist feel like a product.

A lot of marketing asks artists to flatten themselves — to speak in a voice that is not theirs, to post in a rhythm that has nothing to do with the studio, to treat a body of work like inventory. We think that is the wrong trade.

Our work is quieter than that. We spend time understanding the practice, then build the promotion around it rather than the other way round. Everything we write, plan and schedule should still sound like you.

The whole goal, stated plainly: the right people aware of the right artwork at the right time.

Why Artist Growth Marketing

A practice built for the way artists actually work.

Artist-Centered

Every decision starts from your practice, not from a marketing template applied to it.

Strategy First

We define the direction before anything is posted, pitched or promoted.

Flexible

We work with the website, platforms and audience you already have. No forced rebuilds.

Long-Term Growth

The goal is a presence that keeps compounding between shows and releases.
